Abstract

Human society is closely related to the ocean. In the context of globalization, the marine environment and resources need to be protected by the world. In the document of Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at the UN Summit on Sustainable Development in 2015, “Goal 14”indicated the direction of action for global marine environmental protection and the sustainable use of marine resources in the next fifteen years. The China's government has responded positively to this agenda. Meanwhile, it is necessary to understand the background and content of the agenda, which will help us to grasp the direction of protecting marine resources and environment. Besides, we found that there is still a gap between the current marine action and the target by analyzing the current global and domestic situation. In the era of globalization, China's marine environmental protection and sustainable use of resources is coinciding with the rare opportunities. Through studying the advanced experience of the United States, the European Union, the South Korea and other developed countries and regions, we will put forward some feasible suggestions about the existing problems and shortcomings in China.
