Myhotels, the contemporary lifestyle boutique hotel concept developed by visionary and founder Andy Thrasyvoulou, opened their first new build with the launch of Myhotel Brighton in spring 2008. Positioned on the city's regenerated Jubilee Street in the North Laine area, this unique 80-guestroom property, spread over four floors with two event spaces, restaurant and bar, is the shared aesthetic ideal of Andy Thrasyvoulou and New York designer Karim Rashid. Described by Andy as "a hotel where Freddie Mercury might have met the Maharishi" , Myhotel Brighton is an exhilarating destination hotel. Juxtaposing sexy cutting-edge design and state-of-the-art technology with serene spirituality and the principles of feng shui, the property's distinctive individuality invites guests to explore their surroundings. The exterior of the hotel has a brilliant white facade with floor to ceiling windows reflecting the vibrancy of the city back at itself. Utilizing carefully considered lighting, the building's personality changes throughout the day, acting as a welcoming beacon as the sun sets over the cosmopolitan city. On entering through the glass sliding doors, guests will immediately become aware of Myhotel Brighton's unique design. The capacious lobby boasts a monolith size crystal-set as a stunning piece of jewelry, as well as an impressive aquarium, designed to soothe guests. Appealing to each of the senses, visitors are encouraged to interact with their surroundings, shape them and make the space their own. A ground floor bar covered in gold leaf, with blue terrazzo floor and polished pewter tables sets the stage for a host of occasions from creative business lunches to an evening of decadence with friends. The hotel's restaurant will be a feast for the eyes and the palate while alfresco seating for up to 200 people, brings the hotel outside into the vibrant square in the warmer months. On the first and second floor,‘manipura' and ‘anahata', Karim Rashid's uncompromising style, and flair for the futuristic, shapes the design of the rooms. Originator of more than 500 cutting edge creations for clients as diverse as Sony, Issey Miyake and Tommy Hilfiger, Karim's signature curves and free-flowing lines are evident throughout the guestrooms and bathrooms.
